Written by on May 16, 2019

The word malibu is being used around the world to sell stuff.

Cars … airplanes … fast boats.

Now … two new products helping themselves to the Malibu name.

——

Drinking rum in the daytime this summer … is being pushed by the giant distilling company that owns the Malibu rum brand.

Penrod Ricard is introducing its new summer product … a fizzy strawberry flavored rum … by inventing something called the Malibu Summer Games.

The company is hring 32 social media influencers from 9 countries .. in a campaign aimed at what they call “Young, Fun Starters.”

Or … YFSers.

That guy in the Lamborghioni wrapped around a tree last night?
A Young Fun Starter.

Malibu rum says their campaign is aimed at “young adults now look to connect with brands through experience and drink on spontaneous occasions, particularly in summer.

“The 2019 Malibu Games season-long campaign is set to shift brand perception … focusing on the daytime drinking occasion and the change in consumer behavior towards richer experiences.”

Like drinking fizzy strawberry rum in the daytime.

The 2019 Malibu Games start in the Dominican Republic event through attending social channels via 32 individuals from 9 countries, including internet personalities like comedian and model Hannah Stocking, and Latin music sensation Natti Natasha, who between them have a combined Instagram and YouTube following of almost 40 million people.

There’s Malibu Mylk …

An artificial milk made from flaxseed.

The vegan beverage is USDA crtified organic, gluten free, nut free, and contains six ingredients  …. water, flax, salt, sugar, and gums to hold everything together.

The press release says Malibu Mylk has “a thicker mouthfeel.”

“I feel like frothing it in coffee would be really good.” Moments later, we confirmed that it does indeed hold up in coffee, unlike some alternatives which tend to split and curdle once they hit hot liquid.

It’s sold at P C Greens
