Written by on March 26, 2020

The spread of the new coronavirus continues its exponential growth.

By Wednesday afternoon, 65 people in California have died from COVID-19, and nearly 3,000 cases have been reported.

Los Angeles County has reported 13 deaths.

And 799 cases … officially … in L A County.

50 cases in Ventura County.

There are reports on social media … unconfirmed reports … of people in Malibu who are sick with Covid 19.

Some of these people say they have not tried to see a doctor.

Others say they have tried to see a doctor … but not been able to get tested.

Offically … the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (Public Health) has confirmed three new deaths and 138 new cases of Coronavirus.

All three individuals that just died were over the age of 65 and had underlying health conditions.

One resided in Gardena, one in Wilmington and the other case is still under investigation.

Also, upon completion of investigations, two cases reported earlier were not Coronavirus after all.

This includes the death of a 17-year-old boy in Lancaster … whose death was first believed to be Covid-19 related … but now is classified as some other cause of death.

As of today, in L A County … 120 cases have been hospitalized.

That’s 20% of the people who have tested positive.

So far … four out of five people who test positive for Covid-19 in Los Angeles County are -not- hospitalized.

Number of confirmed cases:

Santa Monica … 18.

Pacific Palisades … 9.

Santa Monica Mountains … 3.

Agoura Hills … 3.

Calabasas ….  4.

And in Malibu … zero confirmed cases.
