Self Employed And Company Owners Can Still Get Federal Unemployment Aid

Written by on December 20, 2018

The deadline has been extended for business owners … self-employed individuals or workers who have lost income due to the Woolsey Fire in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

The deadline was last week

The new deadline now is March 15th.

Federal Disaster Unemployment Assistance benefits are temporary unemployment benefits.

They go to people whose job losses, work hour losses or loss of businesses are a direct result of a disaster.

They are designed for people who do not get regular state unemployment insurance benefits.

Think business owners or self-employed individuals.

Individuals can receive up to $450 a week for a maximum of 27 weeks.

The program is administered by E D D  … the state’s Employment Development Department.

We have a link to an information sheet … posted on the KBUU Newswire.
