Neighbors Asking Why Sheriff’s Searchers Missed Woman’s Body For 10 Days

Written by on February 24, 2020

Neighbors are asking questions …. about how the massive search for a Malibu woman missed the fact that she was under her parents’ house.

Julia Christine Snyder’s body was found Wednesday … 10 days after she was last seen at her parents’ home on Ocean View Drive … up Latigo Canyon Road.

Snyder had lost her house in the Woolsey Fire.

Neighbors speculate that Snyder had a bad reaction to a recent change in the medication she was taking for mental health issues.

It appears that she went into the cold night wearing only sleeping clothes … and in fear went into a tight crawl space under her parents home.

Nighttime temperatures that week were in the low 30s … it is possible she died of hypothermia.

But questions center on why her body was not found by the L A County sheriff search and rescue teams … brought in one week after she disappeared.

At least one search dog had scoured the house … and neighbors’ houses…. in that search.

But they missed the body … under their feet.

Between that … and the controversy over an alleged bungling of a reported sex crime in the Civic Center area … February was not exactly a stellar month for the L A County sheriff’s office in Malibu … neighbors say.
