He plead guilty to stealing a car … fleeing police causing death … assault with a deadly weapon … and driving under the influence of drugs.

The incumbent L A County sheriff was blasted by his election challenger … over the Malibu Canyon shootings.  Alex Villanueva called a news conference yesterday in Malibu Canyon.  Details: https://www.radiomalibu.net/challenger-blasts-sheriff/ .

City Hall may get fumigated over the Thanksgiving holiday.

City manager Reva Feldman says a severe termite infestation has not been eradicated with orange oil… it’s time to turn to pesticide.

This rather unpleasant occurrence is happening just as Poison free malibu is asking the city to adopt an integrated pest management system.

As in … manage without poisons.

But the city manager says orange oil has been tried and failed …. .

Termites are in the structural beams that support both the roof and the second floor.

In order to protect the structural integrity of City Hall, mitigation efforts must be taken.

And that means poison.

The issue goes before the city council one week from Monday.

From t he  KBUU Weather Department.

The likelihood this winter of an El Niño  is increasing.

But it’s a minor El Nino … and no guarantee to the end of our epic drought.

The probability of El Niño conditions being present by December is now 70 to 75 percent, up from 50 percent five months ago … that’s according to a new report Thursday from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

But forecasters tell the San Jose Mercury newspaper that they don’t expect this event to be strong enough … to give confidence to favor a wet winter.

Currently, in large part because of those storms nearly two years ago, reservoir conditions remain in decent shape, with the largest reservoirs in California at 105 percent of their historical average

That’s why there have been virtually no water use restrictions this summer in many parts of the state … the San Jose Mercury reports.
