Today’s final words come from Laura St John, a Point Dume resident writing in Nextdoor.:

She and her husband to Malibu from Colorado with their three sons this past July.

We literally just moved all our “stuff” as people keep calling it.

We are one of the “lucky” in one of the very few remaining houses still standing on Wandermere.

As new residents to the community, I want to thank all of you who are displaying exactly the reasons why we were drawn like a magnet here: caring, heart, wisdom, togetherness, strength, compassion, small town vibe that appreciates the magnitude of nature, the feeling of “home” and leaning into each other as needed.

When our family members ask us “are we gonna move back to Colorado?”

We are like heck no, we found our community this summer. It is even more clear to us now. We don’t know most of you yet, but we are looking forward to rolling up our sleeves and rebuilding this community with you.
