The Los Angeles Times has further details about what can only be described as shocking misconduct by sheriff’s deputies at the Malibu-Lost Hills sheriff’s station … and of a clumsy cover-up attempt by the sheriff himself.

And the embattled sheriff will be holding a community listening meeting from 6 to 8 tonight at the Calabasas City Hall …

The official Nixle sent out by the sheriff’s office this morning has the wrong south of  the 101 Freeway at Parkway Calabasas.

Zuma Beach is being considered as a safe overnight parking place for homeless residents.

Los Angeles County and the city are in talks to allow homeless persons to arrive after dark … and clear out in the morning … from a parking area with security guards.

City officials says Malibu has to have a safe parking area for homeless people.

Without that … the Coastal Commission will not approve any city attempt to ban overnight parking on Pacific Coast Highway.

Last night … City planning director Bonnie Blue told Planning Commissioners that two beach parking lots are being considered as safe parking areas for people living in their cars.

NEWSCART 75454 BLUE SLEEPING

“The city manager is looking closely with the county on these safe parking problem ideas … this effort that’s going on now about looking at Will Rogers State Beach and Zuma as potential locations … that’s underway.”

Yet to be heard … however …. is anyone from the Zuma beach area … particularly the adjacent Malibu park neighborhood.

Earlier city plans to install a safe parking lot at Dan Blocker beach ran into opposition … from resident at Latigo Beach who said the official parking lot would simply become a magnet for people up and the coast … who want to spend some time on the beach in their R-V.

Several hundred Pepperdine University students studying in Germany and Switzerland are being evacuated back to the USA … but are being banned from the Pepperdine Malibu campus.  That raises the question … if “under an abundance of caution” they are being kept off the campus … why are they safe to live amongst the general population??? The answer is … they are no danger.   Details: https://www.radiomalibu.net/pepperdine-university-evacuates-its-european-students-but-bans-them-from-campus-some-may-return-to-malibu-off-campus-housing/
