Malibu is going to go into another summer traffic season … and City Hall still does not have a plan to unlock the daily traffic jam at the Nobu restaurant driveway entrance.

Meanwhile at the plan check department … Malibu crossed a significant milestone yesterday.

City planner Richard Mollica made that announcement last night at the Planning Commission meeting.

“Today the first permit was issued for a home that had burned.

“They submitted what is called a planning verification application.

“They went thru the Plan Check process.

“Today they completed that and they have their building permit in hand.

“So that is going to be the first of the homes — that was not under construction before the fire – that are rebuilding.”

That first house is on Paseo Canyon Drive … in the Malibu West subdivision.

Mountain lions are not the only wild cats in the local mountains … and now comes word that bobcats are being killed by cars in an alarming number recently.

L A County Sheriff Alex Villanueva was not yet in office when the Woolsey Fire hit Malibu.

But his office has investigated the roadblocks that infuriated Malibu residents … the week after the fire hit.

The sheriff himself has scheduled a listening session … to hear Malibu voices on the roadblocks and other issues.

Sheriff Villanueva will be in Malibu to hear your opinion … tomorrow night at 6 … at Dukes restaurant.

Not just on the roadblocks … but traffic enforcement … burglaries … whatever is on the publlc’s minds.
