The woman hit by a car at La Costa Beach Wednesday night has died.

L A County sheriff’s deputies say the woman died Thursday at the U C L A Medical Center.

A car struck the woman at about 6:40 Wednesday …. it was the third major crash on P C H in two days.

No word this morning exactly what went wrong … but the driver of the vehicle was not cited or arrested.

No name has been released for the victim … but she is believed to be a Malibu resident.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff Civilian Oversight Commission has scheduled a town hall meeting for Malibu in two weeks..  Lingering anger and resentment over the road blocks around Malibu during and after the big fire can be expected to be brought up.  Details: https://www.radiomalibu.net/roadblock-complaints-can-get-aired/.

The sheriff’s department is serving notice it will have extra deputies out on patrol Sunday in the City of Malibu … looking for violations made by drivers and motorcyclists that increase the risk of crashes.

The motorcycle safety enforcement operation aims at educating both motorcyclists and drivers on the rules of the road.

The city of Malibu may soon get its $6 million dollars … money spent as result of the Woolsey fire and subsequent floods.  There may a solution to the disputes between president Donald Trump and congressional Democrats … over disaster relief. Nearly three dozen Santa Monica College (SMC) students graduated this spring from the school’s Law Pathway Program, more than triple the number that graduated in the program’s first year.

Three-year-old program, which prepares students to become competitive applicants to law school.

Students complete the program at Santa Monica College … go through a two year program at a traditional university … and then are ready for law school.

34 graduates this year are transferring to universities that include UCLA, Columbia University, UC Irvine and California State University, Los Angeles.

By completing the program, the students earn priority admission review at the schools of law at Santa Clara University, UCLA, UC Davis, University of San Francisco, Loyola, USC, UC Irvine and UC Berkeley.

Malibu is part of the Santa Monica College District.
