A mountain lion has been chasing people on Point Dume .. and has killed some pet sheep.

The cougar is a young female … she is not wearing one of those radio detection collars form what’s left of the national park Servrice.

She has been spotted at houses near the fire station … and at houses near Malibu Elementary School.

On Zumirez Drive … north of PCH .. the mountain lion killed some pet sheep.

City volunteer on patrol officer Mark Russo says th cat is being spotted more and more often.

“She is kind of getting a little bit more bold in terms that we’re seeing it more kind of in early evening hours. We were just see it kinda late at night.

“That’s kind of like on Wildlife Road, Fernhill, Zumirez.

“It’s been reported that she’s killed some sheep off of Zumirez north of PCH.

“So it’s active.”

Russo told the Malibu Public Safety Commission last night that one woman was chased into her house by the mountain lion.

“You know it’s got everybody kind of freaked out.

“I found out a couple days ago that it chased one of the residents on their property all the way from their backyard up into their house.”

While mountain lions are often seen along the hills … it’s unusual to have one spotted so far into the city.

State wildlife rangers will not relocate these animals … unless is becomes aggressive to people.
