Feldman Job Review Hearing At 5:30 Tonight

Written by on March 25, 2019

Malibu’s city council will go behind closed doors this afternoon to discuss the job performance of city manager Reva Feldman.

Notice was posted late last week of the one item special city council meeting … at 5:30 at City Hall.

Feldman has come under furious attack by some people in the community.

Her inability to force the county fire department to send fire trucks to Malibu during the Woolsey Fire.

And her inability to get the county sheriff’s department to reopen roadblocks quickly after the fire has also made some people furious.

Feldman supporters have shot back that she is not in charge of either county agency.

Recall petitions have been prepared against two city council members …Skylar Peak and Rick Mullen … who had campaigned on  what some people believe was an anti-Feldman platform.

Mullen and Peak have swung around … and both praised Feldman’s work during the fire … in recent public meetings.

Multiple groups … including the Malibu Township Council … have filed public records requests for Feldman’s emails during the fires.

The Malibu Township Council president has gone to the podium at city hall … and praised her work.

This evening at 5:30 … the City Council will take public comment …

Then … they go behind closed doors to discuss the “Public Employee Performance Evaluation Title of the City Manager.”

The council could then go back into public session to discuss that issue …. tonight.

Or it may stay silent … until the city attorney will give an additional oral report regarding the Closed Session at the beginning of the next regular City Council meeting.
