1.5 Inches Of Rain Likely Saturday Night

Written by on January 4, 2019

Minor debris flows and mud on the streets and PCH.

That’s the forecast for Saturday evening … as over an inch of rain … maybe two inches of rain will fall.

The National Weather Service has ratcheted up its forecast on the impending storm.

Moderate rain is expected to hit Malibu tomorrow afternoon.

The Woolsey Fire burn area will see the heaviest rain between 6 p-m and 10 p-m tomorrow evening.

One inch to one and a half inch of rain is forecast.

Peak rainfall rates will be a half inch an hour.

That is enough to trigger some nuisance mudflows … but not critical mudflows.

Thunderstorms are possible.

Big waves are coming.

A high surf advisory may be issued for the Los Angeles and Ventura County beaches tomorrow.

Breakers of up to 7 feet or higher are possible for the beaches of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.
