Woolsey Fire II Extinguished Tuesday – One Of Two Small Fires Near Chatsworth

Written by on July 8, 2020

Woolsey Canyon caught fire again yesterday.

Just a small fire … this time.

Less than a hundred acres … burning uphill in rugged terrain.

The fire was reported about 4 p.m. in the 5800 block of Woolsey Canyon Road … on the Boeing Corpration’s Santa Susana Field Lab.

The Ventura County Fire Department says the fire in Woolsey Canyon was met with a swift response due to helicopters and other resources already in the area.

They were up on the 118 Freeway at Santa Susanna Pass … dealing with another small fire.

Investigation continues into the cause of the two small fires …. but winds were mild.

Helicopters stopped the fire’s advance quickly.

A year and a half ago …. it was too windy for chopper to fly when SCE power lines caused a fire there a year and a half ago.

And those 70 mile an hour winds blew -THAT- Woolsey Canyon fire down to Malibu in less than a day.
