Virus Hits Three Nearby Assisted Living Homes – 10 Cases Now Confirmed Within Malibu City Limits

Los Angeles County health officials on Wednesday confirmed 29 new coronavirus-linked deaths.

That would be the biggest daily jump of the pandemic — bringing the county’s death toll to 198.

Those additional fatalities pushed the virus’ mortality rate in the county to 2.6%, Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said.

The mortality rate is the percentage of people who die … divided into the number of  people confirmed with the disease.

The number of people testing positive for the illness has reached 7,530.

In Ventura County …  the seventh death is reported.

263 confirmed cases with 52 hospitalized in Ventura County now.

There are 10 confirmed cases of COVID in Malibu now.

In the Santa Monica Mountains … 5 confirmed cases.

81 cases in the city of Santa Monica.

In Calabasas … 20 cases.

Agoura Hills … 19 cases.

And now this grim development.

Three nursing homes or rehab centers in Santa Monica are seeing clusters of COVID 19 cases .

One is inside a rehabilitation center in Santa Monica.

It’s the second floor, subacute care wing at the Beachwood Post Acute and rehab Center … on 15th Street near Arizona Avenue in Santa Monica.

Another is inside the Rehabilitation Center of Santa Monica … on 20th Street near Santa Monica Boulevard.

And at the third is inside an adult care nursing home across on Pico Boulevard at 19th Street .. called The Manor.
