Trump Trumpets Against California, Threatens To Cut Firefighting Disaster Funds

Written by on October 18, 2018

US forest service officials in California were left scratching their heads yesterday … after president Donald Trump blamed California for forest fires.

The president made it impromptu comments … more like threats actually … during a photo op at a White House cabinet meeting.

TRUMP FORESTS :17 QQQ THEY DONT TOUCH THEM.

“California is a mess we’re giving billions and billions of dollars for forest fires in California.

“There’s no reason for those first to be what they are.

“They are leaving them dirty.

“It’s a disgraceful thing old trees are sitting there rotting dry, and instead of cleaning them up they don’t touch them.”

The president threatened to cut off federal funding for fighting forest fires … or for clearing trees from federal land … or federal disaster monies.

We don’t know what exactly the president threatened … the White House won’t say.

Federal officials in California the Los Angeles times they don’t know what he was talking about either.

The Trump administration has already cut money that the US forest service was counting on to clear trees in central and northern California.

State funding for that has increased … dramatically.

The president also warned that California’s next governor … had better clean up our act … whatever that means.
