Stolen Flatbed Truck Chased Up And Down PCH, Crashes Thru Tivoli Cove Gate

A stolen flatbed truck from the central Los Angeles area crahed thru the parking gates at a Latigo Cove condo complex at 1:47 Monday morning.

And it sure kept eastern Malibu residents awake last night.

It all started at about midnight when somebody in Los Angeles saw his Freightliner flatbed truck being stolen and called LAPD.

The California Highway Patrol chased the truck across much of the western Los Angeles freeway system.

Eventually the driver elected to take Pacific Coast Highway … highway patrol units and a helicopter from LAPD in pursuit.

And this late report … a KBUU listener tells us the truck crashed into the gate at the Tivoli Cove condominiums.

The CHP says that at 1:47 a.m. … the truck had a small crash.

One resident said it sounded like the truck was coming right in the bedroom window.

Fire department did not respond … so it wasn’t much of a crash.

The suspected truck thief was arrested by the CHP and handed over to LAPD.

No injuries were reported.
