SM Cops Plan Traffic Ticket Blizzard Friday and Monday – Let’s Hope They Find The Scooters

Written by on February 14, 2019

In news from down the coast … Santa Monica Police will be conducting Bike and Pedestrian Safety Enforcement Operations tomorrow … and again next Monday.

Cops in Santa Monica will be at bike and pedestrian crash hotspots.

And they’ll have their ticket books read.

Extra officers will be on duty 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. looking for traffic violations by drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians.

Special enforcement efforts will be directed towards drivers speeding, making illegal turns, failing to stop for signs and signals, failing to yield to pedestrians in cross walks and similar dangerous violations.

Jaywalkers …. and n=biks riddenon the wrong side of the street … will also be targeted.

Funding for this program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
