Santa Ana To Blow In Before Christmas, But Edison Removes Malibu From Possible Outage Warnings

Written by on December 22, 2020

A big wind – another Santa Ana – is going to arrive tomorrow.

But the Southern California Edison has removed Malibu from its list of areas where power might be intentionally shut off … tomorrow and Thursday Christmas Eve.

Yesterday … Edison warned that the Cuthbert circuit might intentionally get blacked out as Santa Ana winds are forecast for Wednesday and Thursday.

But Malibu was removed from the warning list later in the day.

A very strong and very short burst of Santa Ana winds is likely to develop tomorrow night.

Peak wind gusts of 55 miles an hour in the mountains … 50 miles on the beaches …

The peak of the wind will be somewhat unusual … occurring around midnight tomorrow night.

The winds should run out by the middle of the day Christmas Eve.
