Not Much Said At Sheriff’s Oversight Meeting

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Civilian Oversight Commission convened a public hearing in Malibu in Saturday,

And the handful of Malibu residents who attended was easily outnumbered by county employees.

It was the commission’s first meeting ever in Malibu … and it was pretty much ignored.

One resident … Joan Levine … spoke to traffic problems.

“They created a safety problem and evacuation problems.

“I’d like to point out that we had at least two car racing events over the last week or 10 days with major injuries.”

Commission members also heard county sheriff’s officials pledge to come up with a better solution to the stringently-enforced roadblocks that were placed around Malibu after the Woolsey Fire.

Local sheriffs commanders said they agreed that a plan to identify key emergency responders … such as local doctors or nurses  or CERT team members … and allow then through hard closures needs to be implemented.
