No COVID 19 In Malibu, Maybe

Written by on March 19, 2020

There are no reported Covid 19 cases in Malibu.

But data from the L A County Department of Public Health says there are 30 cases of the illness in what they call the unincorporated areas of L A County … which it defines as cities and communities below 25 thousand population.

One student at U C L A has been confirmed to have COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. …

The student is in the hospital.

U C L A also says a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. The staff member, who was not identified, has self-isolated at home off-campus and is receiving care, according to the university.

Two cases are in Brentwood.

Four in Venice.

Four in Sherman Oaks.

Although the county Department of Public Health official total does not have any Covid-19 cases in the City of Malibu … officials say residents of every city can assume there are cases in every city … now.

We will never get the exact locations … no one gets notified if there is Covid 19 in the neighborhood.

One would ask … what possible good would that be … what possible steps would neighbors expect to take.

Neighbors may see an ambulance … or worse.

But … and this is the grim truth … Malibu has Covid 19.
