Murder Plus 10 Counts of Attempted Murder Charged to Malibu Canyon Shooter Suspect

Charges have been filed against a man for the June ambush killing of Tristan Beaudette in Malibu Canyon.

A hermit found living in the canyon and arrsted last October has been charged with the killing.

42-year-old Anthony Rauda has been charged with multiple crimes, including: one count of murder, ten counts of attempted murder and five counts of second-degree burglary

Rauda is believed to have ambushed and killed man he had never met … Tristan Beaudette … a research scientists from Orange County … last summer in the campground at Malibu Creek State Park.

Rauda is held responsible for a series of armed burglaries, multiple shooting incidents, and the murder of Beaudette. 

Sehriffs deputis say their concentrated effort by detectives unearthed the past activities of Rauda

They revealed that he apparently acted alone during this identified crime spree, stretching from November 2016 to October 2018.  No similar crimes have been reported in the area since the October 2018, arrest of Rauda.

Detectives say a lengthy, extensive investigation developed evidence to incriminate Rauda as being responsible for a series of armed burglaries, multiple shooting incidents, and the murder of Tristan Beaudette.
