Mansion In Eastern Malibu Burns Friday Afternoon, PCH Closed For Some Time

Written by on May 15, 2020

Fire broke out today at a controversial manor constructed over the past few years in eastern Malibu, but the structure was saved.

The fire was reported at 1:41 at the large house, which has a prominent set of columns, set into the hillside at 22435 W. Pacific Coast Hwy.

Arriving units found smoke rising from the second floor. No one was inside.

The fire was put out in about 23 minutes.  Every fire truck in the city was sent there, as well as several from over the hill.

No cause for the fire was immediately reported.

Traffic on Pacific Coast Highway was blocked by hoses, trucks and firefighters.  There was no estimate on the road reopening.
