We start this newscast with a sports score … a J-V team score.

Malibu High 8 … Foothill Tech 6.

That ’s from Wednesday night … as the Malibu High swimiing pool reopened … hosting a game for the first time since the Woolsey Fire.

In another sign of return to semi-normalcy in Malibu … the public pool at Malibu High School has reopened.

The pool has been tested for PCB, for volatile organic chemicals … for petroleum hydrocarbons, … and for metals.

PCBs were below the analytical detection limits.

Volatile Organic Compounds tested below drinking water limits.

Petroleum Hydrocarbons were all below analytical detection limits.

Metals analysis were below drinking water limits.

In short, analysis of the pool water indicated that it was as clean, or cleaner than, drinking water.

Play ball.

The pool also serves as the Malibu Community Pool.

The city says it won’t be opening th epool until Jan. 7.

It is back in service …. for recreational lap swimming … most nights between 5 and 8.
