Leo Carrillo and Pt Mugu Campgrounds Reopen, But Not Malibu Creek

Written by on June 12, 2020

Campgrounds at Leo Carrillo and Point Mugu state beaches will reopen today.

But not the campgrounds at Malibu Canyon.

California State parks says they recognize the benefits of the outdoors during this challenging time of COVID-19.

The governor’s office says the stay-at-home requests are not being removed … but are being modified to allow people sharing a household to move that household to the great outdoors.

Governor Newsom’s Stay-at-Home Order asks Californians to stay close to home, maintain physical distancing and avoid congregating with others outside their immediate household.

And the state parks system operations have been modified to provide an outdoor experience that reduces the risk of exposure to COVID-19.

Only every other campsite is open .. for example.

Again … the campgrounds in Malibu Creek State Park remain closed … but the campgrounds at Point Mugu and Leo Carrillo state beaches are reopening tonight.
