Malibu’s city council meets tonight … to further refine city rules to help fire victims.

The city council is being asked to change the definition of temporary structures …. to allow double wide trailers to be used.

The current limit of 900 square feet would be increased to 12-hundred feet.

The change would also allow the use of two small units … to allow for a tenant to gain temporary housing on a fire-destroyed lot.

The council is also going to address temporary powrr poles … and the request by some residents to add large water storage tanks for firefighting purposes as they seek to rebuild their properties.

The city council will also consider adding a gate at the parking lot at Point Dume State PArk … up on the bluff.

The gate would prevent people from entering the parking there after sunset … which is when the park closes.

The meeting is tonight at 6:30 at Malibu City Hall.
