Big problems on the Santa Monica Freeway this morning.

A pedestrian on the freeway was struck and killed at 4 30 this morning … near Western Avenue. 

Eastbound freeway lanes are closed … at times a couple of lanes are allowed through … but the five mainline lanes are closed at times as well.

Traffic is backed up heading downtown … slowing starts at [[[[[AD LIB TRAFFIC UPDATE]]]]]

Santa Monica Malibu school board members are scheduled to vote tonight on the new name for the school on Point Dume.

Three city commissions met last night … and unanmously recommended that the city forget about any concept of selling the Chilli Cook Off Site to the fire department.  Details on that tomorrow.

One stock analyst tells the Los Angeles Times today that Southern California Edison is “one catastrophic wildfire away from having serious financial issues” like Pacific gas and Electric. Sheriff’s dive teams have been checking the waters at Paradise Cove … looking for the remains of a 30 year old woman from Colorado.

Jennifer Michelle Lorber was last seen in the Malibu Pier area a week ago.

Her rental car was found abandoned on PCH at Paradise Cove on Saturday.

The woman was believed to be suffering from depression. 

The LA County Board of Supervisors has put up a $10,000 reward for information.

The reward was approved Tuesday.

She said investigators believe that someone may have seen or heard something that could help, based on activity in or near Paradise Cove around the time Lorber went missing Saturday night.

Meanwhile … a sheriff’s dive team has been searching the waters of Paradise Cove … in case Lorber drowned.

Finally this morning … the Michellin restaurant guide has came out a list of the best “affordable restaurants” in California … the best 151 places to grab an affordable meal.

About half of which are in Los Angeles and Orange County.

But … none in Malibu.

Closest to here … Father’s Office in the historic Helms Bakery district in cukver city.

and offers a delicious acclaimed burger made with dry-aged beef, caramelized onions and bacon compote.
