Anger and outrage is growing by some people in Malibu … as they discover that Southern California Edison plans to enter their property to cut down mature trees.

Patt Healy … a Malibu environmental activist … says dozens of mature trees are targeted by the utility company as it plans to ostensibly reduce fire dangers.

Worries about the numbers of homeless people at the Malibu Library continue. And the city council may hire another security guard down there.

Malibu will get a new poet laureate tonight.

Ellen Reich has been selected by the city’s Cultural Arts Commission to serve as the 2019-2021 Malibu Poet Laureate.

Reich has been a part of the Malibu community since 1974 and has been devoted to poetry for several years.

She has 19 years of service as the Emeritus Chair of Creative Writing at Santa Monica College.

She will be the second poet laureate appointed by the city of Malibu

Ricardo Means Ybarra held that post for two years … spreading poetry and insight … wit and whimsy … across Malibu.

More trouble for a Malibu fire victim.

Actor Gerard Butler lost his house in the Woolsey Fire.

Now …smeone has stolen his vintage Airstream trailer from a San Fernando Valley repair shop.

TMZ reports that the vintage 1969 Airstream Silver Sovereign was stolen from the parking lot at a fabrication shop.

TMZ quotes LAPD sopurces who say thieves smashed a gate and made off with the trailer, which is valued at around $11,000. 

The mobile home out of state and Gerard Butler was in the process of having it restored.
