Hurricane John Merges With Tropical Storm Ileana – What That Means For Your Weekend Weather?

Written by on August 8, 2018

What do you get if Hurricane John merges with Tropical Storm Ileana?

Big waves in Malibu: details: High surf from the latest Baja hurricane will move into Malibu tomorrow night … Friday and Saturday.

Hurricane John just sucked up some more strength by sucking in Tropical Storm Ileana.

The combined storms are south of Cabo San Lucas.

We’ll get coastal swells tomorrow night … will peak on Friday … and linger through Saturday.

These waves will come ashore atop very high astronomical tides … around 7 feet during the evening hours.

High tide last night almost … but not quite … flowed into Trancas Lagoon.

The bigger waves could cause lagoon berm breaches … especially Friday evening when the highest surf and highest tides are expected.
