Malibu Officials NOT Involved In Convention Brawl

You may have heard about the conference of local government officials from across California … which erupted into violence over the weekend.

It was the Contract Cities Association … a group that counts Malibu as a member.

In the convention hall just after midnight … a fight broke out between members of the City of Commerce city council.

They meant business.

Several began throwing punches … and at least one person was apparently coldcocked.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department confirms that a brawl at the Renaissance Indian Wells Resort & Spa.

Police tried to identify the people involved but “none of them were cooperative,” Vasquez said.

One man was hospitalized for minor injuries, he said.

There were no arrests.

Malibu city council members Skylar Peak and Rock Mullen were at the convention.

But they were not in the room when the big fight broke out.
