Sheriff Deputies Plan PCH Crackdown … on Jaywalkers

Written by on May 2, 2018

Five days after hot rodders took over and closed a section of P C H in Malibu … Malibu sheriff’s deputies are announcing a crackdown … on pedestrians and bicyclists.

The sheriff’s office put out a news release this morning … publicizing a crackdown on bicyclists and pedestrians next Monday.

The sheriff’s office says it has mapped out locations over the last three years where pedestrian and bike collisions have occurred.

The department will have extra deputies on hand Monday to write jaywalking tickets and to ticket bicyclists who run stop signs what traffic lights.

This operation is planned by the County sheriffs traffic safety operations department.

Will check with them why they’re doing this on Monday … and not on a weekend … which is when Malibu sees thousands of bicyclists on Pacific Coast Highway.

One week ago … the county did NOT send extra deputies down to Malibu … when dozens of hot-rodders ran red lights … raced and did peel outs on P C H … on the way to a takeover just past the county line … at Neptunes Net.
