July 4th Crowds and July 3rd Malibu Canyon Fatality

The Fourth of July resulted in at least two major car crashes … and two major parties within blocks of each other in western Malibu.

Five fire trucks were called out to work a crash on Pacific Coast highway at Puerco Canyon Road.

Earlier …. a crash snarled PCH at Rambla Pacifico.

Very few instances of illegal firecrackers or fireworks … however … were observed at Trancas.

Overflow crowds we disrupting residents at Broad Beach and Matador Beach into the night.

Deputies say no arrests.

LA County fire reports there were no major fire incidents last night.

During the day … the Zuma Beach parking lots filled up and Sheriff’s deputies were called to the gate … what some people would not accept no for an answer.

Two nights ago … a 66 year old woman was killed on Malibu Canyon Road when her car jetted at 70 miles an hour over a cliff.

The victim … 66-year-old Jayne Fleming … of Granada Hills in Los Angeles.

Witnesses saw the crash at about 7 p-m Tuesday … according to the C H P.

They say the car driver sped across a dirt turnout at about 70 miles per hour across the dirt shoulder and into the air … as it went down a cliff.
