Homelessness Plan Released, Discussion Tonight

Written by on May 24, 2018

The City of Malibu is holding a town hall meeting tonight … to discuss homelessness.

The city has unveiled a 40 item agenda … a series of goals and objectives … and a list of specific tasks to achieve them.

Goal one is to reduce the number of people experiencing homelessness in Malibu by providing access to services within L A County.

Goal two is not aimed at the homeless…. but is to prevent and mitigate any public health and public safety impacts on the community stemming from homelessness.

Other goals include preventing Malibu residents themselves from becoming homeless.

And keeping Malibu up to date on the effort … and its eventual successes.

The city’s homelessness plan is online at the KBUU Newswire.

The town hall meeting is at 7 tonight at City Hall.

And by the way … the next Homeless Connect Day is next Wednesday … at the old county complex on Civic Center Way …
