The weather forecast for Santa Monica tonight is snow.
It will be snowing on the Third Street Promenade tonight when the City of Santa Monica rings in the holiday season with the lighting of the official Christmas tree this evening.
The ceremony takes place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the 1200 block near Wilshire Boulevard.
There is an immersive holiday light show with falling ‘snow,’ …Downtown officials said.
A handful of Malibu residents will be playing Christmas carols …. they are members of the Santa Monica College Emeritus Band.
There will also be live musical performances by the Santa Monica High School and Lincoln Middle School Madrigals.
Santa Claus will make an appearance.
And the lights will be switched … to the city’s enormous live Christmas tree …
The free event is sponsored by Downtown Santa Monica, Inc and the City of Santa Monica.
