City Opens Cooling Center At Bluffs Park

Written by on July 6, 2018

The City of Malibu has opened a cooling center at Bluffs Park.

People who want to cool down are invited to use the Michael Landon Recreation Center … which is air conditioned.

The city will have ice and water there.

The heat wave and cooling center operation comes just a week after the city’s Dial A Ride operation suddenly collapsed.

The contractor … Malibu Yellow Cab … went out of business.

The city had offered residents above 60 years of age discounted cab rides to get to the senior center … to doctors or shopping.

City manager Reva Feldman tells KBUU news that persons who need a ride to the cooling center … should call the city switchboard … at 456-2489 … and ask for help.

We’ll repeat that number in a few seconds.
