Bus Stuck On Upper Latigo – 50 People Walk Out 2 Miles

Written by on June 15, 2018

About 50 people were marooned on Latigo Canyon Road yesterday … when a large bus got stuck on the hairpin turns about 2 miles south of Kanan Dume Road.

The California Highway Patrol reported that a Greyhound-style bus was on the winding road … the middle of it stuck hard on a raised shoulder.

A second bus was also on the road … unable to get past the first one.

The 50 people walked 2 to miles to the Calamigos Ranch …

And a giant lift tow truck was eventually called in to unstuck the bus.

Residents say bus drivers and truck drivers sometimes get stuck on Lattigo Canyon Road … because their cell phones show the steep and winding back road to be an alternative to Kanan Dume Road.

Kanan Dume has an 8 percent grade … and is off limits to trucks and large buses.

Waze and other navigational devices do not indicate that Lattigo Canyon is a really bad idea for large vehicles either.
