Written by on September 19, 2018

Former Malibu planning director Joyce Parker-Bozylinski will be back a lot more at City Hall.

Parker-Bozylinski was brought out of her retirement on a 20 thousand dollar contract to work wuith the California Coastal Commission.

Her mission …  to work with the state agency to bring Malibu into comoliance with low cost housing mandates set by the state Legislature.

Then …  the Council expanded her tole by 27 thousand dollars worth of work on backlogged matters … including Accessory Dwelling Units.

Now .. the city manager is asking for another 60 thousand dollars to have Parker Bozylinski work on the backlog of other long range projects … backed up in the Planning Department.

City Hall has cut the public availability hours  for Planning Department staff … and taken other actions … to try to reduce the backlog of issues and projects at the Planning Department.

Planning commissioners have voiced impatience at the large backlog of city ordinances … and the long time it takes to get answers …. from the Planning Department.
