Traffic Stopped Today on PCH, Jammed Sat on Kanan

Written by on June 11, 2018

Traffic on P C H was at a dead stop for two hours this morning.

Just after eight in the morning … a car hit a power pole on the Pacific coast highway just east of big rock.

The pole went down … the car flipped over … and wires fell on the Pacific coast highway across the road.

It took 90 minutes for a Southern California Edison truck to make its way to the gigantic traffic jam.

One lane in each direction was restored about a half hour later.

A huge traffic jam developed last weekend on Kanan Dume Road.

Local residents reported hour long delays on Saturday … crossing the 13 miles between PCH and the 101 freeway.

The culprit apparently was a winery off of Mulholland highway that had a widely publicized promotion called Rose Day.

A huge publicity effort last week directed tens of thousands of people to try to drive up Kanan and over Mulholland Highway.

LA County Sheriff’s deputies and the CHP tried to direct traffic … but there was little they could do to disperse the mess.

Happy Rose day Malibu.
