Acting Like A Community Improves Odds In Fire Recovery

It was standing room only last night in the city council chambers … as Malibu fire victims crowded in to hear an Australian wildfire expert explain what they learned after massive wildfires Down under nine years ago.

Craig Lapsley told the crowd that getting together to share lessons and commit to change is very important.

“Our research showed that in the recovery phase, people who engage in these type of meetings will be better off long-term.

“Those that go back and get busy doing their own thing on their own property, and forget to connect or can’t find the time to connect, will later struggle to recover.”
