Malibu Knolls Resident Wants Action On Homeless

Last week’s fire at Malibu Knolls has residents furious … about homeless people setting fires in the middle of the night.
Steve Uhring nearly lost his house.

“We dodged serious damage because of the quick work of firefighters, because of offshore winds, and because someone spotted the fire early and called in the alarm.”
But the Malibu Knolls resident told the city council last night that the issue of persons camping in the fire areas is a citywide.

“Speaking for my neighbors up on the Knolls, and probably for other residents across Malibu, we need to move this up on the priority list and come up with a solution.”

With 55 thousand homeless people in western Los Angeles County alone,… any action that Malibu could possibly take alone might simply be drowned in the waves of the national problem … one might observe.
